Standard Test Method for Autoignition Temperature of Liquid Chemicals
The ASTM E659 furnace is a precision instrument designed for determining the autoignition temperature of liquid chemicals. Its stainless steel body and metal parts offer robust protection. The furnace is equipped with three type K thermocouples for external flask temperatures, a type K thermocouple for precise furnace temperature control with an Inconel® shield, and a type K gas temperature thermocouple. It features a high-quality, long-life electric heater and high-grade insulation, and operates on either 110 or 230 VAC power supply.
The temperature control system employs a PID controller for accuracy of ±0.3% full span ±1 digit. The 4-channel thermometer with an LCD display ensures precise temperature readings, while the temperature data acquisition module allows data export to a PC via USB.
The accompanying ANKO ReqTemp® Software facilitates comprehensive temperature registration, with user-defined sampling intervals from 1 second, easy data processing in .txt format, and options for diagram enlargement and printing. Additional features include data fields for test/sample descriptions and capabilities for printing test procedures and protocols. This makes the ASTM E659 furnace a versatile and reliable tool for rigorous chemical testing.
