Apparatus for Corrosion of Cast Aluminium Alloys
The ASTM D 4340 apparatus evaluates corrosion in cast aluminum alloys within engine coolants under heat-rejecting conditions. It features a base with one or two heat-transfer corrosion cells, suitable for up to 40 psi and 160°C. Key elements include an electronic timer, thermostat, enamel-finished steel base, and a safety screen. The Pyrex-glass corrosion cell has stainless steel top/bottom plates and a 950 W heater. It includes a stainless steel manifold with a purge valve and pressure relief. Each unit has an electronic thermoregulator with a digital display and a safety device against overheating. The apparatus supports 220 V/50 Hz connections. Available as a single or double unit, it is CE marked and comes with an English manual.
